Position Summary
Hardware Clerks are responsible for spending time on the sales floor, directly interacting with our customers and ensuring they are able to find the products they need. You will also be responsible for accurately processing their orders though our register system. As a member of our team, you will also be fully trained and able to assist customers in other areas in the store when necessary.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide exemplary customer service by ensuring products are replenished on the shelves and helping customers locate product. Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the team member's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
  • Become familiar with product in the ACE Hardware department in order to answer questions and make suggestions to customers. Be knowledgeable and maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
  • Ensure customer orders are processed through our registers accurately and efficiently in the friendliest manner.
  • Replenish product on the shelf, rotating product and ensuring code dating procedures are followed. Properly handle products and equipment in accordance with all safety guidelines to ensure a safe shopping environment. Participate in the processing of new shipments and assist in keeping the receiving and back stock area clean and organized .

Education and Training Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience Required
  • 0 to 6 months
Experience Desired
  • Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn
  • Sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and working with customers
  • Previous experience in a retail environment either in marketing
  • A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
Age Requirement

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
